Uncertainties on parton distribution functions from the ZEUS NLO QCD fit to data on deep inelastic scattering

چکیده

An NLO QCD analysis of the ZEUS data on ep deep inelastic scattering together with fixed-target data has been performed from which the gluon and quark densities of the proton and the value of the strong coupling parameter, αs(M 2 Z), have been extracted. The study includes a full treatment of the experimental systematic uncertainties, including point-to-point correlations. Different ways of incorporating correlated systematic uncertainties into the fit are discussed and compared.

Combination of H1 and ZEUS Deep Inelastic ep Scattering Cross Section Measurements and NLO-QCD analysis

Deep inelastic scattering cross section measurements previously published by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations are combined. The procedure takes into account the systematic error correlations in a coherent approach, leading to a significantly reduced overall cross section uncertainty by cross calibrating the various data sets. The analysis is based on data with momentum transfers Q2 > 0.045 GeV2 c...

Extraction of the proton parton density functions using a NLO-QCD fit of the combined H1 and ZEUS inclusive DIS cross sections

The combined HERA-I data set, of neutral and charged current inclusive cross-sections for ep and ep scattering, is used as the sole input for a next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD parton distribution function (PDF) fit. The consistent treatment of systematic uncertainties in the joint data set ensures that experimental uncertainties on the PDFs can be calculated without need for an increased χ tole...

Combined HERA Deep Inelastic Scattering Data and NLO QCD Fits

Previously published data on inclusive neutral and charged current ep and e−p deep inelastic scattering from HERA have been combined. The new, model-independent method of combining the measured cross sections takes full account of correlated systematics in a coherent way, leading to significantly reduced uncertainties in the combined measurement across the (x,Q) plane. The combined cross sectio...

Qcd Analyses of Hera Cross Section Data C. Gwenlan on Behalf of the H1 and Zeus Collaborations

The H1 and ZEUS Collaborations have performed new next-to-leading order QCD analyses to determine the parton density functions of the proton. QCD fits are performed using inclusive neutral and charged current deep inelastic scattering cross sections from HERA-I. The fits include a full treatment of experimental systematic uncertainies, taking into account point-to-point correlations. The extrac...
